Certified Interpreters & Translators with Law Enforcement/Legal Expertise

River Linguistics, Inc. is seeking certified interpreters and translators for an exciting contract opportunity. Work includes translating law enforcement training materials from English into the target language, and performing on-site simultaneous interpretation during the training sessions. All linguists must be US citizens or permanent legal US residents and have at least 5 years’ experience in professional and/or academic settings. Certification (e.g. NAJIT, State Court, ATA, etc.) is preferred, but high-quality, relevant experience is also accepted. Individuals capable of both translation and interpreting under this contract, and those with DoD, FBI, or Department of State credentials, are especially encouraged to respond.

Interpreter qualifications include:

  • Simultaneous and consecutive interpreting as well as sight translation capabilities
  • Experience with law enforcement and/or legal environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in foreign language, law enforcement, or other relevant field
  • Ability to interpret formal, judicial content as well as colloquial speech with thoroughness and precision
  • Ability to reside on-site for entire 4-week training session

Translator qualifications include:

  • Proven experience with law enforcement and/or legal translations
  • Bachelor’s degree in foreign language, law enforcement, or other relevant field
  • Ability to use computer-aided translation (CAT) software
  • Transcription skills a plus

River Linguistics, Inc. is seeking US-based, certified translators for an upcoming contract opportunity. Qualifications include:

  • Widely recognized certification or accreditation, such as American Translators Association or State Court certification
  • Experience translating public-facing informational content and immigration-related content
  • Must be located and eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be highly responsive and able to perform within tight deadlines
